Terms of service
Last updated
These terms apply when you hire Actor Showreels (“Actor Showreels”, “we”) to edit a demo reel. By confirming a project, you agree to them.
The service
We edit footage you provide into a demo reel and any agreed deliverables, as described in the package you choose on our pricing page. We don’t shoot new footage, retrieve footage from streaming services, or guarantee auditions, bookings, representation or any other career outcome.
Quotes and packages
We’ll recommend a package after reviewing your project details. If your footage falls outside a package, we’ll quote it before starting. A project is confirmed when you accept the package or quote in writing (email is fine) and your payment is received.
Payment
Full payment is due before editing starts, once we have confirmed that your footage suits the package. We send a secure invoice by email. Prices are in US dollars. We agree the payment method with you before work starts. Any fees your own bank or payment provider charges you are yours to cover.
Your footage and responsibilities
- You confirm you have the right to use all footage and material you send for your demo reel.
- You’re responsible for providing accessible, complete files or links.
- If someone makes a claim against us because footage or material you sent wasn’t yours to use, you agree to cover the reasonable costs that claim causes us.
See our footage rights policy.
Turnaround
We aim to deliver your first cut within 5 business days after receiving all footage and payment. Delays in receiving footage or notes extend this. Faster delivery, within 3 business days, is available as a paid add-on when our schedule allows.
Revisions
Your package includes two rounds of revisions. A revision is one set of notes on a delivered cut, using footage already provided. New footage after the first cut is treated as an update and may be quoted separately. Additional revision rounds are $35. Revision requests must be made within 14 days of delivery.
Delivery and files
We deliver your reel as H.264 .mp4 at up to 1080p and any agreed clips by download link. Download your files promptly; links may expire after 30 days. We keep project files for 12 months.
Ownership and use
Once your project is paid for, you may use the finished reel and clips for your own promotion as an actor, for example on casting sites, on your website and in submissions. The underlying footage stays the property of whoever owns it. We claim no ownership of your performance. We only show your reel publicly with your separate written permission, as described in our footage rights policy.
Cancellations and refunds
If you cancel before editing starts, you get a full refund. Once editing has started the fee is non-refundable, and if we cannot deliver the first cut we agreed to, we refund you in full.Limitation of liability
We take care with every project, but we can’t be responsible for losses we couldn’t reasonably foresee, such as missed auditions, jobs or other opportunities. As far as the law allows, our total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid for that project. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that can’t legally be limited.
