About Actor Showreels
Actor Showreels is a remote demo reel editing service for screen actors in the United States. We edit footage actors already have into demo reels and clips for casting and representation. We do one thing: make it easy for casting directors, agents and managers to see what you do.
Why we edit demo reels
Your editor
Anas Sheraz
Anas Sheraz is the editor behind Actor Showreels. He has more than 15 years of experience as a video editor, and Actor Showreels is focused on one job: finding the strongest moments in the footage an actor already has and building a reel that leads with them. Every project starts with an honest look at your footage: what we'd open with, what we'd cut, and why. You get clear notes along the way, and the final say on your reel is always yours.
How we make editing decisions
Performance comes before production value
A beautifully lit scene where you’re barely doing anything won’t open your reel ahead of a rougher one where you’re clearly alive and specific.
You should be easy to find
The viewer should know whose reel it is within the first seconds: in the frame, on the soundtrack, at the center of the scene.
Shorter, when shorter is stronger
If your best footage adds up to 50 seconds, your reel is 50 seconds. We’d rather tell you that than stretch it.
Honest notes, your final say
We explain why we’d cut something. It’s your reel and your career, so you make the call.
Why “showreels”?
“Showreel” and “demo reel” mean the same thing. We chose a name that’s easy to remember. In the US, most casting sites and actors say “demo reel” or “acting reel,” and so do we. Actor Showreels is a US-focused service and isn’t connected to any similarly named company in the UK or elsewhere.
What we won’t do
- Promise auditions, bookings or representation
- Present self-produced scenes as if they came from real productions
- Add credits, titles or effects that misrepresent your footage
- Show your footage or reel publicly without separate written permission
- Retrieve copyrighted footage from streaming services
How we handle your footage
Your files are used only to edit your project. We keep them for 12 months so updates are quicker, and delete them when you ask. Read our privacy policy and footage rights policy.
