This policy explains what personal information Actor Showreels (“Actor Showreels”, “we”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Actor Showreels is a remote demo reel editing service for actors. Our editor is Anas Sheraz. For anything about your information, email hello@actorshowreels.com.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email address, project details, links to footage, and anything you include in messages.
- Footage: video files and links you share so we can edit your reel. Footage shows your likeness and voice and may include other people.
- Payment information: we agree a payment method with you before work starts. We never ask for your card number by email or on this website, and we don’t store card details. We keep a record of each payment (amount, date and the account it came from) as part of our business records.
- Information collected automatically: like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs used for security and troubleshooting. Our project form keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for up to an hour to limit spam.
- Information about minors: our service isn’t directed to children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry and recommend a package
- To edit and deliver your reel and clips
- To take payment and keep business records
- To keep the website secure and working
- To meet legal obligations
We don’t sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to build advertising profiles.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as much as they need:
- Website hosting and the database where project inquiries are stored: Hostinger
- Email: our email provider, which delivers inquiry notifications and our messages to you
- File transfer: the service you choose to send footage through, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, Vimeo or YouTube, and the storage we use for project files
- Payments: the payment provider we agree with you before work starts
We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We don’t show your footage publicly without your separate written permission. See our footage rights policy.
Cookies and analytics
We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this website, and we don’t load third-party fonts or scripts. If a page shows a video sample, the player from Vimeo or YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode) only loads when you press play, and that provider’s own policy then applies. If we ever add analytics, we’ll update this policy first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
How long we keep information
- Inquiries that don’t become projects: 6 months, then they’re deleted automatically
- Footage and project files: 12 months after delivery, unless you ask us to delete them sooner
- Payment and business records: only as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal purposes
How we protect information
The website is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Inquiries are stored in a private area that only the site administrator can see. Finished files are delivered through private download links that stop working after 30 days. Access to footage is limited to the people working on your project. No method of storage or transfer is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you send us.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to give you a copy, or to delete it and your footage. Email hello@actorshowreels.com from the address you used with us so we can confirm the request is yours. We’ll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we’ll honor them.
Changes to this policy
We’ll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
